Update on MVPs in the AQUA Registry
Utilizing Existing CMS approved MVPs
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved a total of 12 MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs) for the 2023 performance year (PY). However, none of these MVPs are applicable to the urology specialty. Therefore, the AQUA Registry is not supporting any MVPs for the 2023PY. Furthermore, CMS will consider additional MVPs for the 2024PY. If approved by CMS, we will evaluate their utility for urology (and for support within AQUA) for the 2024PY. We will supply an additional update on MVPs in early 2024.
AUA’s Plan for Creating MVPs
As part of a collaborative effort, with multiple urology stakeholders, the AUA has co-developed a draft MVP for urology. We suspect CMS will evaluate this draft by early next year. We hope it will be approved for use within the 2025PY.

- Deadline to sign-up, or upgrade, to an AQUA Registry MIPS reporting option for 2024.
