This one-year fellowship at Columbia University, unlike other minimally invasive fellowships, is uniquely designed to offer extensive experience in all aspects of minimally invasive urology, including advanced endourology (percutaneous access, ambulatory PCNL, flexible renoscopy, single session staghorn removal, ablation of calyceal diverticula, endopyelotomy), benign and reconstructive laparoscopy (pyeloplasty, nephrectomy, ureteroneocystostomy, ureterolithotomy, pelvic floor reconstruction), BPH (office TUNA, Green Light laser), incontinence and voiding dysfunction (slings, neurostimulation, artificial sphincters, cystocele/rectocele repair), and office urological procedures (urodynamics, ureteroscopy, RPG). In addition, there will be ample clinical research opportunities with emphasis on writing and academic presentations.

The faculty consists of two fellowship trained urologists who specialize in male and female voiding dysfunction and pelvic floor reconstruction, and two fellowship trained endourologists with expertise in percutaneous, ureteroscopic and laparoscopic treatment of stones and benign urologic pathology.

The future of urology is minimally invasive and office-based. This is the only fellowship that will develop expertise in office, ambulatory, and minimally invasive urologic procedures. We are now accepting applications for July 2009. Applicants should have completed a formal urology residency in the United States as approved by the ACGME by July 2009 and be eligible for New York state licensure.
