Vaccination Requirement or Negative Test Protocol
Our goal is to host a safe and meaningful Annual Meeting and we remain committed to ensuring full compliance with CDC guidelines, as well as state, local and facility safety regulations.
The AUA will be instituting a COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination or Negative Test Result Entry Protocol for AUA2022.
In practice, this means all AUA2022 in-person attendees, exhibitors, vendors, guests and staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide negative test results taken 72-hours or less from the time of entry in order to gain access to the AUA Annual Meeting. There is no higher priority for the AUA than delivering a safe and successful Annual Meeting, and we believe this is the safest approach for the well-being of our audience.
How is Fully Vaccinated for COVID-19 being defined for right of entry into AUA2022?
At this time, a person is considered fully vaccinated:
- 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine
- 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or any World Health Organization-approved vaccine for international participants, as listed below:
- AstraZeneca/Oxford
- Covaxin
- Covishield
- Novavax
- Sinopharm
- Sinovac
This guidance applies to COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (i.e., Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson (J&J)/Janssen) and to vaccines authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization.
Note: To be considered fully vaccinated when on-site Registration opens on May 12, your second vaccine shot (or single-dose shot for Johnson and Johnson (J&J)/Janssen) should have been received no later than April 27, 2022.
Will a COVID-19 booster shot ("Third Shot") be required as part of the AUA2022 Vaccination Requirement Protocol?
At this time, COVID-19 booster shots are not required for admittance to AUA2022, but are strongly encouraged for additional protection.
How will AUA be verifying vaccination of attendees?
The AUA has partnered with ShareMy.Health, a HIPPA and GDPR compliant platform, to safely and securely manage the verification process. This will enable meeting attendees, exhibitors, and guests to submit proof of their COVID-19 vaccination in advance of traveling on-site for the Annual Meeting.
Trust and transparency are top priorities for the AUA. You will not be asked to release any personal health data directly to the AUA.
Is there a cost to use ShareMy. Health?
There is no cost for any attendee to use ShareMy.Health.
Do I need to submit proof of vaccination at time of registration?
No, you do not need to submit proof of vaccination at the time you register online for the Annual Meeting. However, it is encouraged you verify your health status in advance.
At the Convention Center, attendees, exhibitors, vendors, guests and staff will be asked to provide proof they are fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or World Health Organization (WHO)., or asked to show proof of a negative COVID test taken 72 hours or less upon time of entry.
You may show your vaccination status upon entry via ShareMy.Health, other vaccination apps, or showing your actual vaccination card.
How do I submit proof of vaccination?
Pre-registered attendees will receive an email from ShareMy.Health with instructions to activate their account and upload vaccination records. If you received more than one dose, you will be asked to enter the dates and vaccine type for both doses. You will receive validation emails for each dose submitted.
You will receive your health passport when vaccination records are fully approved. The health passport displaying a green check mark will need to be presented on-site to gain entry.
How long does it take for my vaccination record to be approved?
The approval process can take up to 1-2 business days.
Can I show proof of vaccination on-site at the Annual Meeting?
Yes, you can present proof of vaccination on-site. Checkpoints will be inside the convention center at the Julia Street and Transportation Center entrances.
Will I be asked to show my health passport every day of the conference?
No, you will only be asked upon first arrival at the convention center in order to obtain registration materials. When re-entering the convention center, you will only be required to show your AUA2022 badge to gain entry.
How can I verify negative test results?
Those who are not fully vaccinated will need to present negative PCR or rapid antigen test results to gain admittance to AUA2022. To save time on-site, you may upload test results in the ShareMy.Health portal within 72 hours of arrival to the convention center to obtain a verified health passport. If you choose not to submit test results in advance of arrival, check points to review negative test results will also be inside the convention center at the Julia Street and Transportation Center entrances.
If I am not vaccinated, do I need to present negative test results more than once while on-site?
No, presenting negative test results taken 72-hours or less from the time of entry is only required once upon entry to attend the Annual Meeting. Wearing your AUA badge will serve as proof you have been verified.
