American Urological Association Welcomes New Executive Vice President of Information and Communications
Baltimore, MD, December 6, 2016— The American Urological Association (AUA) is pleased to announce William “Bill” A. Glover has joined the organization as Executive Vice President of Information and Communications, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer, Michael T. Sheppard, CPA, CAE. As Executive Vice President, Glover will direct the AUA’s technology, marketing, communications and member services goals and objectives, as well as the outreach efforts for the Urology Care Foundation.
Glover brings to his position more than 25 years of leadership and expertise in technology and communications. Prior to joining the AUA, he served as Chief Information Officer and Director of Information Technology for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, where he supported more than 220 locations.
“Bill is an accomplished executive who brings forth a wealth of knowledge regarding current and new perspectives and approaches to the use of technology, information systems and communications tools,” said Sheppard. “We look forward to the many contributions he will bring to our team.”
In his new role, Glover will be responsible for working with the staff and physician leaders to further define and implement the Association’s digital, technical, member-centric and marketing and communications initiatives. Additionally, he will support and guide the Urology Care Foundation outreach efforts; including serving as the Foundation’s senior liaison to its various stakeholders and patient advocacy groups as they work to increase awareness of urologic health and wellness matters at local and national levels.
“Both the AUA and Urology Care Foundation Board of Directors look forward to working with Bill,” said Richard A. Memo, MD, chair of the Urology Care Foundation. “He will be a key driver of new technologies and processes that will support our long-term digital strategy for both organizations.”
Glover is an active volunteer, serving both his professional and civic communities through a variety of roles including consultant to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Communications, and board positions with the United Way of Central Maryland, the Maryland Education Enterprise Consortium and Mount de Sales Academy. In 2009, and again in 2011, Glover was honored by SmartCEO Magazine as a top CIO innovator for the Baltimore region. He has consulted with a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations including a variety of Catholic Dioceses, School Districts, educational institutions, as well as religious and health care organizations.
