AUA Advanced Practice Provider of the Year Award
The AUA Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of the Year Award was established by the 2019-2020 AUA APP Committee led by Chair, Tricia Zubert, APRN, CNP. This prestigious award celebrates the remarkable achievements and invaluable contributions of APPs in urology. Each year, the APP Committee proudly selects a deserving recipient to receive this honor, highlighting the exceptional impact these professionals have in the field.
Natalie Barganski, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, RNFA
2026 Award Winner
Dr. Natalie Barganski is a nationally recognized leader in pediatric urology whose clinical expertise, educational leadership, and dedication to advancing the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role make her an exceptional candidate for the APP of the Year Award. Since joining Driscoll Children’s Hospital in 2009, she has elevated pediatric urologic care through her expertise in urodynamics, management of complex bladder disorders, and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care. As a Pediatric Urodynamic Trainer, Past Chair of the PUNS Urodynamic Special Interest Group, and Co-Founder and Instructor of the Pediatric Urodynamic Course, she has trained and mentored APPs and nurses nationwide, helping expand the scope and impact of APP-led specialty care. Through her clinical excellence, national education efforts, and community advocacy for children with complex urologic conditions, Dr. Barganski continues to advance the field while serving as a role model for current and future APPs.
2027 APP of the Year nominations will open in November 2026.
Eligibility
Recipients must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills in urology while advancing the APP role and enhancing APP visibility both regionally and nationally.
- Delivers outstanding patient care by driving change through the implementation of evidence-based practices and innovative practice models.
- Significantly contributes to the APP program at their respective Section/Society meeting and/or shows leadership in coordinating other APP activities/initiatives
- An AUA Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Member in good standing who does not currently serve on the AUA APP Committee.
Winners receive a $1,000 stipend to attend the AUA Annual Meeting. The winner will be presented with their award during the APP Program (Urologic Care for the Advanced Practice Provider).
