June is National Men's Health Month

Linthicum, MD, June 1, 2017- June is National Men's Health month, a time of year when the Urology Care Foundation and the American Urological Association (AUA) are encouraging men to take charge of their health and talk to their doctor about their risk for such urology-related conditions as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and other health conditions men face that can impact their overall health.

Using the following weekly themes, the Foundation and AUA will work together to connect, educate and inspire men across the country to know their risk and talk to their doctor about their urologic health:

June 1-3 | Men's Health Month Introduction

June 4 -10 | General Men's Health - Pain Below the Belt

June 11-17 | Prostate Cancer and BPH

June 18-24 | Diabetes and its Impact on Urologic Health

June 25-30 | Testicular Cancer

"When men have the right tools and facts about their health, they feel empowered to talk to their doctor and make informed decisions," said Richard A. Memo, MD, chair of the Urology Care Foundation. "Men's Health Month focuses on providing these tools and encourages men to talk openly with their provider about their health and make direct, positive and healthy changes in their lives."

Men's Health Month begins Thursday, June 1. As part of this month's activities, the Foundation will launch the Urology Care Podcast with special episodes dedicated to important awareness issues in men's ,health. ,In addition to the podcast, the AUA and the Foundation will utilize Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and blogs to disseminate this information to promote a public dialogue and awareness on men's health issues.
