Urology Practice® Editor

The American Urological Association (AUA) is searching for the next Urology Practice Editor. The Editor is responsible for leading the peer-reviewed journal and making recommendations to improve the dissemination of this growing journal that is focused on clinical trends, challenges, and practice applications in four areas – business, health policy, the specialty, and patient care. The overarching objective of this position is to maintain the highly regarded editorial integrity of the journal while implementing publishing innovations that grow Urology Practice®, its Impact Factor, and its readership. The Editor oversees an editorial board, including an Associate Editor and several Section Editors, on matters of editorial policy and recommends nominees for all editorial appointments to the journal.

The ideal candidate must be an AUA Member, active in the practice of urology with broad knowledge of the specialty, possess publication experience, including previous editorial board experience and knowledge of current practices in the publishing industry. The Editor is a paid consultant to the AUA Board of Directors, its officers and staff, and specifically to the Executive Vice President/Chief Marketing and Development Officer, as well as the Director of Publications.

The individual selected will serve one year in training (non-compensated) from Jan 1, 2025 – Dec 31, 2025, prior to beginning a three-year compensated term as Editor from Jan 1, 2026 – Dec 31, 2028. This position is eligible to be extended for a second term through 2031.
