The AUA's Academic Exchange Programs provide junior faculty and residents an opportunity to interact with and learn from colleagues in different regions of the world. These funded fellowship programs encourage the interchange of urological skills, expertise and knowledge, which are critical to the continued success of urology worldwide. In addition to a unique educational and cultural experience, academic exchange programs offer scholars the opportunity to interface directly with the leadership of the AUA and other international urological associations, which can lead to professional opportunities in the future. As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, the exchange of knowledge will continue to increase resulting in a higher quality of care to our patients. However, Academic Exchanges provide face-to-face interaction and the ability to network, which remain critically important to the advancement of urology.
