American Urological Association Names New Treasurer-Elect
Baltimore, MD, October 22, 2015—The American Urological Association (AUA) today announced David Green, MD, FACS, has been named Treasurer-Elect, a position he will assume in May 2016 with ratification at the Annual Business Meeting, and hold until May of 2017 when he becomes Treasurer of the Association and its official foundation, the Urology Care Foundation.
"Dr. Green's experience in fiduciary oversight and the management of financial assets make him well-qualified for this position," said Dr. William F. Gee, AUA President. "We look forward to working with him as he assumes his new role as treasurer-elect, and we are confident he is going to be a great addition."As Treasurer, Dr. Green will be responsible for safeguarding the financial assets of both the AUA and Urology Care Foundation and for reporting and compliance to the AUA and Urology Care Foundation Board of Directors and various constituencies, including AUA membership. Additionally, Dr. Green will assume all fiduciary responsibilities of the AUA, which includes responsibility for the internal controls over financial transactions, such as disbursements, investment yields, debt and other liabilities, serving as a voting member on various AUA committees, as well as, serving on the board of directors for both the AUA and the Urology Care Foundation.
Dr. Green previously held multiple positions for the New England Section of the AUA, including president in 2004 and secretary. He is a 2014 recipient of the AUA Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Green is a senior partner at Concord Hospital's Center for Urologic Care, where he has practiced since 1987, and is also an adjunct associate professor of surgery at Dartmouth Medical School and senior vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer for Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire. Dr. Green is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American College of Physician Executives.
